Momentum App.
Actively tracking new habits is key to habitualizing new behaviors. I happened to notice about a year ago that an appropriately named app called “Momentum” was featured by Time Magazine as one of the best iPhone apps. The name caught my eye and I downloaded it to give it a spin and I’ve really appreciated the beauty and simplicity of it.
The App is free to track a limited number of habits to try it out and you may pay to unlock an unlimited number of habits. In the screenshots here, you’ll see me using it to track my Golfer’s Elbow Rehab Physical Therapy homework. I’ve got three specific exercises that I get to perform twice a week and if I click into a specific one, I get an accountable monthly view as to how diligent I was in maintaining that habit.
I used to track other habits like meditation, sleep, reading etc but switched over to my company’s Virgin Pulse App which allows me to track those and earn cash for tracking those. I didn’t want to double check my habits. If your company has a wellness platform, it would be worth researching to see if you’re able to earn cash by tracking things like steps and habits as that would be free money. By maxing out my potential on my company’s app I’m able to earn an additional $500 a year!
