I AM COACH JASON LUK

Hi, I’m Jason Luk.

I appreciate you clicking over to this page to learn more about me! I’m Jason and I’m a Possibility Coach committed to helping clients step into their full potential. I help my clients realize and actualize what’s really available for them. I want people to live a life where they feel fired up about what they are choosing to do, a life that is fulfilling and in which every moment counts. I’ve also picked up experiences which have helped me to live a well balanced life in the areas of fitness, nutrition, sleep, stress, love and more that I get excited to share with others. I’ve been working in Corporate America for over ten years in a solid job. I’m a top performer on my team and consistently received great feedback from clients and teammates. Two years ago I reached rock bottom with respect to both my physical and mental health. I was experiencing stress levels at an all time high and began feeling the effects manifesting in a number of ways:

  1. I found it difficult to be engaged during meetings

  2. My quality of sleep became poorer and poorer, I would fall asleep in my barber’s chair
while getting a haircut and think that was “normal”

  3. I was losing my sexual drive at home and thought I was just getting “older”

  4. My athletic performance was in decline and I was getting crushed by more and more
    athletes at my gym

  5. I felt like I had nothing else to give

I made an appointment with my Doctor to talk about how I was doing as it was time for my annual physical anyway and got a wake up call after reviewing my bloodwork: Jason, according to these results you are borderline pre-diabetic and from everything you’ve described, it sounds like your cortisol levels have been consistently elevated which is caused by stress. I was shocked as someone who thought I was living a “healthy” life cooking well and exercising. It was a wake up call that being “healthy” got to go beyond just those two things.

My Doctor had suggested some anti-stress supplements which I did try and felt a difference with. As I began reflecting on my diagnosis and what I was doing and how I was being, I realized that I didn’t want to be taking supplements for the rest of my life to manage my stress and would rather find a way to strike the balance my body deserved to have. I began learning and trying new things to be better to myself and found success with practices such as meditation, shifting my bedtime earlier along with employing digital curfews, mindfully single tasking on work projects and slowly but surely I began to feel like my former healthy and happy self again.

I regained control of my health and happiness because I believed in what was possible for me. That same belief I have and hold for every other human being on this planet and I’ve come to realize that I am most fulfilled when I am helping others to see what’s possible for their life. I am here to help coach people to help them live the life they want. I believe in coaching in a collaborative way with creating small steps to move in the direction of great dreams.

I’m a gay, cisgender, male-bodied, able-bodied, neurotypical, middle class, second generation Chinese immigrant and documented citizen. I live in Vancouver on the unceded territory of the Cowlitz people with my partner, Mike and our greyhound Ramen. My power color is orange, I enjoy breaking a sweat as a CrossFit athlete, and I like to remind myself of humanity’s potential by watching episodes of Star Trek.
